Roland DG has launched the TrueVis AG-640, a 64-inch latex printer/cutter designed to combine high-quality output, integrated contour cutting and lower operating costs. The new model brings together CMYK, Orange, Red and high-density White inks, alongside water-based latex technology and a print-and-cut workflow in one device. Roland DG positions the AG-640 as the world’s first latex wide-format printer with integrated cutting capability. The machine is intended for print service providers, sign makers and graphics professionals seeking to produce a wider range of work from a single platform.

Integrated Print And Cut

The AG-640 builds on Roland DG’s print-and-cut technology by allowing users to print and contour cut selected applications without moving work between devices. The arrangement is designed to reduce equipment requirements, conserve floor space and limit operator handling.

Applications include wraps, wallcoverings, banners, posters, stickers, labels and decals. Roland DG states that the cutting system has been engineered to maintain cut accuracy comparable with its eco-solvent and UV platforms.

Expanded Colour Output

The printer uses newly developed TA-2 water-based latex inks and piezo printheads for high-precision dot control across common and speciality media. Orange and Red inks complement standard CMYK, while high-density White ink supports work on transparent, coloured and speciality materials.

An integrated optimiser is intended to support ink placement, print quality and durability. The instant-dry latex ink technology also enables finishing without outgassing, helping users shorten turnaround times while retaining the surface characteristics of the substrate.

Workflow And Workplace Focus

Roland DG has paired the hardware with VersaWorks 7 RIP software, intelligent media handling and job-saving functions. The company says these features are designed to reduce setup time, media waste and unnecessary production steps.

Low-odour, water-based latex inks make the AG-640 suited to applications in settings including hospitals, schools and public facilities. Roland DG also presents the printer as an upgrade option for existing latex users and businesses seeking a more eco-friendly digital printing technology choice.

New Production Opportunities

Beyond signage, display graphics, vehicle graphics, window displays and exhibition visuals, the AG-640 is positioned for wallcoverings, retail interiors and graphics used in corporate, hospitality, education and healthcare environments. Its combination of print quality, integrated cutting and workflow tools is designed to help users broaden their application range.

Ryugo Nimura, Executive Officer, Global Sales and Marketing Division at Roland DG, said:

“With the TrueVis AG-640, we are introducing a new level of performance and productivity to latex printing. We’ve focused on the areas we believe matter most to today’s latex users; consistent color, lower operating costs, broader application capability, and a simpler production workflow.”
