Technics has introduced the SL-1210MKX, an upper-line professional direct-drive DJ turntable for club, festival and touring environments. Positioned above the SL-1210MK7, the model brings enhanced vibration resistance, expanded pitch control and refinements shaped by feedback from working DJs and sound engineers. The launch marks 55 years of the SL-1200 Series, which was first introduced in 1972. The SL-1210MKX will be available from January 2027 at selected Technics retailers at an RRP of € 1.499,- | GBP £ 1.299,-.

Built For Performance Venues

A heavier, balanced chassis and newly designed isolation feet are intended to improve stability where deep bass, structural vibration and extended operating periods put equipment under pressure. The turntable retains the controlled feel required for scratching and performance use while reducing the risk of acoustic feedback.

Stefanie Baron, Manager Technics DJ Channel Europe at Panasonic Consumer Europe (PCEU), said:

“The SL-1200 Series has earned its reputation through decades of real-world performance in clubs, on stage and in studios around the world. With the SL-1210MKX, we wanted to build on that legacy by working closely with professional DJs and sound technicians to better understand the challenges they face. The result is a turntable that delivers even greater stability, precision and creative freedom while staying true to the qualities that have made the SL-1200 an industry standard for more than five decades.”

Expanded Pitch Control

For the first time in the SL-1200 Series, the SL-1210MKX includes a dedicated ±4% pitch range for finer adjustment and accurate beatmatching. A new ±50% range extends tempo variation for creative mixing, turntablism and advanced performance techniques.

The model also includes a quieter reset switch, a coreless direct-drive motor with adjustable start-up torque and brake speed, 78 rpm playback and reverse functionality. Its polished silver tonearm and black finish reference the SL-1200MK2.

A New Chapter For DJs

Technics will unveil the SL-1210MKX publicly at 12:10 CET on 21 October 2026 at Pacific in Amsterdam during the 30th anniversary edition of Amsterdam Dance Event. Further launch activity is planned at the Paris Audio Video Show and Poland Audio Video Show. The “X” denotes Extreme and Expert, reflecting the demanding settings and professional users for which the turntable was created.
